Alexander Nininger Veteran's Home Christmas picnic held on December 2, 2006 with Department Comander George Wehrli in attendance.

Commander Roy Schofield and Adjutant Joe Motes presented the Americanism Award to Cadet / SMSgt Aaron Lynch from the Weston Civil Air Patrol during their annual awards dinner held on February 17th. Other member in attendance was Carol Fraser.

Post 385 honored Sgt Adam Cann (USMC) of Davie and Petty Officer 3rd Class Nathan Bruckenthal (USCG) who were killed in Iraq by renaming their Post the Bruckenthal-Cann Weston Post 385. Past District Commander Loretta Young and Vice Commander Bill Gemayel presented the new charter to Post Commander Roy Schofield. Opening ceremonies were held by Everglades High School JROTC.

Commander Roy Schofield then presented a copy of the charter to Mr. Leigh Cann, father of Sgt. Adam Cann who accepted on behave of this son. Mr. Cann spoke of his son and of Nathan Bruckenthal who is also buried near his son in Arlington National Cemetery .

Legion Members Cliff Handerhan, Jr from Post 157, Carol Fraser and Joe Motes were in attendance for the opening of the new VA Cemetery in Lantana. The right picture is that of an outdoor chapel.

Cypress Bay High School ROTC Cadets Sara Chesney and Luis Pinto received our ROTC Medals and Cadets Campillo Tyler and Sara Farinelly received out School Award Medals.

Everglades High School ROTC Cadets Rachel Martin and Christopher Vanderwyde received our ROTC Medals and Ribbons.

Everglades High School ROTC Cadets Cathy Acosta and Ryan Reidway received our School Award Medal.

Flanagan High School ROTC Cadets Joshua Lasley and Daiana Pena received our ROTC Medals and Ribbons.

Crystal Lakes Civil Air Patrol Squadron Cadet Jacob Gabriel received our Americanism Medal.

On May 17th, Post 385 member Stewart Fraser was laid to rest at the newly opened South Florida VA National Cemetery, which was attended by his wife Carol Fraser, and post members Robert Nagle and Joe Motes, plus other friends and guests. The following are photos of the memorial service. This is a beautiful cemetery and to see deers running lose was something else.
